The newest version of the SAT test is more focused on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It measures 1) what you learn in high school; and 2) what you need to succeed in college

The same habits and choices that lead to success in school will help you get ready for the SAT. The best way to prepare for the test is to take challenging courses, do your homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, and ask/answer lots of questions.

The reading portion measures a range of reading skills including: command of evidence, words in context, and analysis in history/social studies and science. The writing and language portion requires test takers to read, find mistakes and weaknesses, and fix them. The math portion of the exam consists of algebra, problem solving and data analysis, complex equations, geometry, and trigonometry.
